Leaving Edinburgh

Charlie: Well, here I am sitting at home. Just mooching about waiting to go and meet Helen for our leaving party. I'm not looking forward to the next week. I've still got a little bit of work for Professor Salter to finish, and I HATE packing!

Things I am going to miss about Edinburgh:
All our friends
Alien Rock
My bike and my car
The highlands

Things I am not going to miss about Edinburgh:
Long winter nights
Lack of open fire
Electric hob

I just thought: this time next month we'll have been at sea for a whole day!

What I am looking forward to:
When you're at sea, there's nothing you can do about stuff on land, so there's no point in worrying about it.
I'm going to finish Jack Kerouac's 'On The Road' and I'm going to finish Michelle Thomas' Spanish course in preparation for Central America
Getting some appreciation of how big the Atlantic Ocean is. Really - I don't know offhand how many times I've flown over it, but it doesn't mean anything to you when you get in a metal tube in one country and get out in another a few hours later.
Doing something that's a bit out of the ordinary
